Bob McLean joined Johns Hopkins in 2015, after 30 years with the United States Navy.
His professional career as a senior leader encompasses every phase of facilities management, capital projects, planning, real estate and environmental services in both the national and international arenas.
With extensive experience leading large engineering and facility service organizations, Bob oversaw and delivered major facility development and maintenance services with diverse partners such as government, international, and contract workforces. Bob is known as both a principled decision maker, as well as a strong leader who promotes organizational and individual staff development. Creating and managing large budgets contributes to his overall reputation as a dynamic seasoned professional.
Bob arrived at Johns Hopkins in August 2015, after his last Naval posting in Naples, Italy. There he led 1,200 military and civilian personnel, managed a physical plant of 9,000 acres and 6,000 facilities valued in excess of $9 billion.
